Welcome to The Arc of Anchorage

One person at a time, The Arc helps make dreams come true for people who experience developmental disabilities, behavioral health issues, or deafness . . . but we do not accomplish this goal in isolation.

In our journey toward the time when our community not only "tolerates" the people we serve, but welcomes them and believes that their own lives are diminished when people with disabilities are not among us, fully participating in community life, we walk together with people in our community who already share our vision. People who stand on the sidelines and cheer us on, people who are way out front, blazing new trails and making it easier for us to follow, and people whose generosity provides us with the means to continue.

Become a Member of The Arc: When you join The Arc of Anchorage, a local chapter of The Arc of the United States, you become a member of a community-based organization with national affiliation! As a member, you will receive both local and national newsletters so you can keep up to date with special events and read about what's happening at The Arc.

Get involved: As a volunteer at The Arc, you can make a difference in someone's life. It's fun and easy! Share your gifts, talents, and hobbies, or just your smile and sense of humor. There are many ways to get involved! Let's find the one that works for you. Call 777-0101.

Donation Center and Pick Up Service: We will come to your home and pick up used clothing and small household items. All donations are tax-deductible. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of donations funds our work in the community. To schedule a pick-up, please call 337-6390. Find employees: If you're a business owner or manager looking for loyal, reliable, enthusiastic employees, we can help. We'll help you find the right graduate from our Supported Employment training program to fill the job, fit in with your business culture, and satisfy your customers. Alternative family-based care and foster parenting: Become a foster parent and share your loving home with a child, young person, or adult who experiences a disability. Support provided by experienced professionals from The Arc.

Become a supporter: We need the support of people like you to make sure The Arc's services will continue to be available to everyone who needs them. Your gift of cash, stock, real estate, vehicles, professional services, or in-kind donations would be greatly appreciated and will immediately be put to good use building a community that welcomes people of all abilities.
