Deaf and Hard of Hearing Center

The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Center (DHHC) provides four kinds of service to the estimated 3,000 Alaskans who are Deaf or the more than 50,000 who are hard of hearing.

The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Center also makes presentations to increase public awareness about Deafness, the abilities of people who are Deaf or hard of hearing, and their rights.

DHHC's services include: The DHHC publishes a monthly newsletter called Hand-Chat, with articles about services, technology, and a calendar of upcoming events of interest to people who are Deaf or hard of hearing. Click here for the most recent issue of Hand-Chat.
