DHHC's Consumer Services are designed to promote independent living, whether a person was born Deaf or has become Deaf or Hard of Hearing as a result of injury, illness, or old age. Families are welcome to participate.

Consumer services include:

Home management
Sex education

Vocational skills and counseling:

Awareness of the world of work
Developing a resume
Interviewing skills
Work ethics
Job search assistance

Assistance on the job sites
Assessment of work performance
Job accommodation

Communication skills:

Aspects of sign language system
Use of interpreter services
Basic writing and reading skills
Information about hearing loss
Using assistive devices
American Sign Language classes and tutoring

Peer counseling
